The goal of this project was to create a fully functional job search/recruiting platform with various types of profiles, determine and develop functionality behind it, analyse, determine user flow, find and eliminate any usability issues based on the user testing, and develop UX / UI design for the platform, create all necessary graphics.
The Development process was divided into 3 phases consisting of several stages each. It allowed a successful overview of all processes, control of the outcome, and track of the results.
Phase 1
Phase 1 mainly consisted of user, market, trend, and competitor research. During this, I worked closely with company management to determine the functionality of the platform, usability, and user flow. The prototype allowed us to run user tests to find flaws in functionality and problems with usability. Testing allowed us to eliminate functionality issues.
Phase 2
Phase 2 was the most time- and resource-consuming. Around one year was spent improving and finalising the design, working on art boards, preparing files for the developers, creating animations for the elements on the page, and working on micro-interactions. The goal was to develop a clear and straightforward file structure so that the work for developers could be seamless. During Phase 2, the page was translated into Danish (the page will be available in two languages).
Phase 3
Phase 3 is dedicated to development, where front-end and back-end developers work on the final version of the page. This phase of development required close collaboration with developers—providing support, guidance through the design files, reviewing the product, and testing it.
The main goal of the design direction was to create a user environment that would be simple, clear, and intuitive.
The direction was set towards minimalistic design, so when the user spends a long time on the Platform applying for jobs or looking for workers, the design would not 'irritate the eye' and would be simple and intuitive to use, effective, and straightforward.
It was decided to keep Day Workers’ distinguished design element—a bright and rich yellow colour. It was used as an accent colour. Preserving the yellow in this case would allow existing users to accept the new product more easily, as the colour is associated with the brand. Also, it allowed sticking to the existing brand direction
The additional task in the project was rebranding and redesigning the existing web page of the company. It was important to make it match the platform design (since it will be integrated into the page), reduce the number of elements and unnecessary text, and make it more uncluttered and minimalistic.
The new design focuses on a light scheme. That way, the page loses its roughness, reduces eye strain while being on the page, and enhances the brand's colour, making it pop.

During the project, it was a strategic decision to make the Platform responsive on six screen sizes according to the Bootstrap 5 frameworks. The decision to stick with all six breakpoints instead of the more common three was due to the complexity of the Platform. The Platform consists of numerous unique elements and complex structures that had to look flawless no matter what device the user is on or what screen orientation is used.
The challenge during the design process was to ensure that developers get a clear understanding of how the platform and page should act at each breakpoint, how elements interact, and what experience the user will have.
